# Release a hold

`DELETE` `/holds/{holdId}`

Operation ID: `releaseHold`

**Write.** Returns the held rooms to inventory immediately. Do this when a guest abandons checkout.

## Path parameters

- `holdId` (string, required)

## Responses

- `200` - Released hold.
- `403` - The API is in read-only mode.
- `404` - Not found, or owned by another partner.
- `409` - Inventory or state conflict.
